In celebration of Asexual Awareness Week, I'll be sharing some of my Ace headcanons from The X-Files! I've mentioned it here before, but I am in fact Asexual myself and have identified that way for a very long time! It was my very first LGBTQ+ label, I've struggled with accepting my Asexuality the longest, and therefore have the most intimate connection with said label! Asexuality exists on a spectrum and isn't as linear as people think it is. Yes Asexual means little to no sexual attraction, but there are many other labels that make up the Asexual spectrum! PLEASE REMEMBER THAT NOT ALL ASEXUAL PEOPLE ARE SEX REPULSED AND THAT HAVING SEX WITH SOMEONE DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE NOT ASEXUAL!
Here are some terms that I will be referencing this post:
Demiromantic/Demisexual: Needing a strong emotional bond with someone in order to feel romantic or sexual attraction to said person.
Aromantic: Feeling little to no romantic attraction!!!
Note: Not ALL Asexual people are Aromantic and not ALL Aromantic folks are Asexual!!!
Biromantic: Romantic attraction to two or more genders!!!
Homoromantic: Romantic attraction to the same gender!!!
